Many fraternity chapters on countless campuses since the beginning of Greek Life have claimed to be different from their peers. We all strive to stand out from the crowd, to reach for excellence and succeed where others have not.

Texas Alpha has always sought after these same things, but unlike many, we can actually see the fruit of those efforts. For the last 5 years, the Texas Alpha chapter has been among the campus leaders in manpower (176) AND grade point average (3.22) as a chapter as compared to our peers. It's a testament to recruiting the right kind of men that are focused on being successful in college and life.

Our experience is that when our members join and realize the high level of performance that are expected, they step up to the challenge. Our members are leaders all over campus, from the pinnacle of Student Government (Horacio Villarreal, 14, Student Body President), to the Texas Cowboys and Silver Spurs service organizations and across an array of other clubs and organizations. Our members take the initiative to help the community and realize that their number one job is in the classroom.

Our goal is to make sure that our members are better off for having been in the chapter, as our programs and results reflect. The undergrads are shepherded by a dedicated group of alumni and volunteers that meet with the undergraduate officers weekly. The alumni group as a whole meets once a semester to celebrate the chapter's successes and to continue supporting the undergraduates. The chapter also hosts two parents weekends every year (fall and spring) to showcase what we have accomplished.
