Wayne “Laniere” Adams* [1986] - one of the “Gladewater” group - Oil and Gas Operator, president of a listed independent oil and gas company, and a major contributor to the 1980 Housing Fund.

Samuel T. (Tom) Aderhold - Long term supporter of Texas Alpha, father and grandfather of 4 members of TX Alpha; Aderhold Farms, Inc., an Edinburg, Texas based citrus producer and member of citrus industry boards.
 
Ernest “Mickey” Allen* - Long term housing Board Member of TX Alpha and lifetime supporter of the Chapter.

Bruce Anderson

Jasper (“Jap”) H. Arnold, M.D.* [1981] - not a Charter member of Texas Alpha but close - Jap graduated from UT in 1932, was the driving force for raising the funds for the “house that burned down” and which many of us remember as the “SigEp” house at 2506 Pearl. Jap practiced medicine in Houston for 50+ years - he was a SigEp for many more - for life.

James W. Beavers* [1986] - Lifetime affiliation with the H. L. Hunt family and Hunt Oil Companies; Past District Governor of the Northern District of Texas for ΣΦΕ.

Melvin C. (“Bo”) Brackendorff [2009] Has served as Treasurer of the Texas Alpha Education Foundation for more than 20 years now. Significant contributor to our most recent capital campaign. Highly acclaimed Houston CPA.

Herbert L. Brewer - Professional career in oil and gas business; director and President of Triton Energy, Chairman and CEO of Triton Europe, Plc. founded Madison Oil company, became its CEO until acquired by Toreador, Resources Corporation, and serves Toreador as an officer and director.

Hiram S. Brown* [1982] - the Austin alum stalwart of TX Alpha for years. Hiram was there in the 40's - 60's when needed, and he did not need to be asked to help.
 
Roger C. Chapman - Chairman of 1980 Fund Drive to build current chapter house, honorary chairman of the most fund raising effort; ΣΦΕ Citation honoree, Trustee - ΣΦΕ Educational Foundation, long term chairman of TX Alpha Education Foundation; Independent Oil and Gas Operator; Real Estate Investor; Senior Olympics gold medal winner in tennis.

C. Leonard Dolce [1986] - 30+ year TX Alpha volunteer and past officer/director of alumni boards for TX Alpha; Periodontitis in Austin.

William R. Ellis* [1982] - Charter Member of Texas Alpha - Realtor and owner of Tarpon Inn at Port Aransas.
 
Brooks Goldsmith [2003] - 40+ year TX Alpha volunteer and officer/director of alumni boards for TX Alpha; Dentist in Austin.

Gary Griffith [2003] - lifetime commitment to ΣΦΕ and Texas Alpha - Order of the Golden Heart, Past Grand President, Director and staff member of ΣΦΕ, volunteer and mentor of members of TX Alpha; Dallas City Councilman; Principal of Jefferson Partners, a public relations firm in Dallas.

Edward L. Hay* - major contributor to 1980 fund raising effort; oil and gas and ranching interests.

R. Steven Hicks [2005] - major supporter of TX Alpha, ΣΦΕ Citation honoree (1999). Steve is a 29 year veteran in the broadcasting industry. Steve formed Hicks Broadcasting, Inc. in 1979. In 1989, Steve co-founded SFX Broadcasting, Inc. building it into one of the 5 largest broadcasting companies in the US. In mid-1966, Steve left SFX and founded Capstar Broadcasting Corporation, which was listed on the NYSE in 1998; Capstar and Chancellor Media merged in 1999 and became AMFM, Inc. which was later acquired by Clear Channel Communications. In 2000, Steve founded Capstar Partners, LLC; an Austin based small and middle market buy-out and real estate and investment firm.

Thomas O. Hicks [1994] - Chairman of our most recent fund drive to expand and improve chapter facilities; major supporter of TX Alpha and ΣΦΕ; past Trustee of ΣΦΕ Educational Foundation (national), ΣΦΕ Citation honoree (1987); founder, Hicks and Haas and later, Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst, leveraged buy-out firms. Tom is now the principal of Hicks, Inc., which owns and operates Southwest Sports Group, a company that was the former owner of Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, Mesquite Championship Rodeo and 50% of the English football team, Liverpool FC.

Everett Hutchinson* [1981] - President of TX Alpha, ΣΦΕ Citation honoree, Attorney, Chairman of Interstate Commerce Commission.

Elton M. Hyder* [1981] - Attorney, Investor, Art Collector, ΣΦΕ Citation honoree.

Chester J. Lee* [1981] - Charter Member of Texas Alpha, Founder of Texas Epsilon, Order of the Golden Heart, Past District Governor.

Mark Kiester [2011]: Served 12 years as President of our Alumni Volunteer Corporation; often credited with helping the Chapter achieve its current position as the top fraternity on campus. During his tenure as our lead Austin Volunteer the TXA became the first fraternity ever in the UT Greek Community to be recognized at number one in manpower and GPA in the same semester. Currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area which has increased the number of kids the organization served in Travis County fivefold in eight years.

Frederick H. Korth* [1981] - First President of Texas Alpha, Attorney, Under Secretary of the Army, Secretary of the Navy, ΣΦΕ Citation honoree.

Robert G. Martin* [1983] - longtime supporter of TX Alpha, and father and grandfather of members of TX Alpha, Construction Equipment Dealer.

Donald J. McCleary* [2008] – First Texas Alpha Alumnus to serve as President of the Grand Chapter. He is also one of five TXA alumni to receive our highest national honor – the Order of the Golden Heart. Don served the fraternity as a regional director in 1971-2 and is responsible for colonizing several chapters in Texas and was a District Governor for several years.

Terry Nathan [1996] - long term TX Alpha volunteer and officer/director of alumni boards for TX Alpha. Terry was very instrumental in the rebuilding of the chapter after the 1993 chapter review. For many years Terry was involved in data processing. Terry is currently the business manager of St. David Episcopal Church in Austin.
 
Byron M. (Mack) Rankin* [1982] - major supporter of TX Alpha, ΣΦΕ and the University of Texas; past National director of Trustee of ΣΦΕ and the ΣΦΕ Educational Foundation (national), ΣΦΕ Citation honoree; co-founder, McMoran Exploration Co. in 1969; Vice Chairman of McMoran Exploration Co. and Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold, Inc. since 2001; private investor.

John P. Robbins* [1983] - major contributor to 1980 Fund Drive, Independent Oil and Gas Operator.

Bruce W. Schnitzer [2004] - long term supporter of TX Alpha and ΣΦΕ; past National Director of ΣΦΕ Fraternity; Bruce founded WAND Partners, a New York based investment company, in 1987 and is its Managing Director and Chairman. Prior to forming WAND Partners, Bruce served as the senior executive and director of Marsh & McLennan, the world’s largest insurance brokerage firm, from 1983-85. After leaving UT in 1967, Bruce moved to New York and joined JPMorgan/Morgan Guaranty; his last position at Morgan was head of Mergers & Acquisitions.

Jerry Smith [2015] President of TXA Housing Corp., Project Manager for Hicks Family Pavilion, Director of Sig Ep National Housing; Investor in Banking, Private Equity and Real Estate.

Glenn E. Staats [2008] Has served on our TXA Education Foundation for 2 decades. Founder of one of the first automotive industry internet startups in the country which he sold several years ago. Still invests in creative internet startups; has made significant contributions to two Chapter capital campaigns.

John K. Tyler [1994] - 30+ year commitment to ΣΦΕ and Texas Alpha - Order of the Golden Heart, charter member ΣΦΕ Board of Governors, past District Governor, officer/director of alumni boards for TX Alpha since 1981. John’s law practice is Houston is primarily focused on commercial real estate.

C. Richard Vermillion, Jr. [2007] - Dick for the last several years served as president of the TX Alpha Education Foundation board. Dick served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of MBank Houston, and its successors, including Bank One, Houston, N.A. until 1992. Dick is a director of Fulcrum Analytics and Seismic Energy Products, and until the recent sale, was the Chairman of Gammaloy.

Cadmus E. Williams [2004] - Cad has served as Chairman of the Board of East Texas National Bank in Palestine, Texas since 1984. After Cad graduated from UT, he started his banking career in Austin and for several years served the chapter as alumni board treasurer. Cad has and continues to serve many Palestine area organizations as a board member, trustee or the like.

W. Gardner Winters* [1983] - long term supporter of Texas Alpha and member of ΣΦΕ’s Board of Governors. Gardner retired from Shell Pipeline Company where he served as General Counsel and corporate Secretary for many years. Gardner was with Shell Oil Company and/or its subsidiary companies throughout his career.
